Did you know?

Identity theft is a major concern among a majority of Americans, according to a recent Consumer Reports survey.

You can avoid identity theft by erasing all traces of personally identifiable information on your electronics before recycling, donating or selling them.

Turning off your computer and staying offline when it's not in use can decrease your exposure to viruses and spyware.

Protect your identity

Avoid identity theft. Your identity and other personal information can be stolen from electronic equipment such as a computer or cell phone if you don't erase it before donating or recycling the device. Find out how to effectively remove this information by visiting our sections on Computers and Cell phones.
